Biography

2022-23

  • Posted a third-place effort in the 200 butterfly at the America East Championships, earning his fourth career individual medal
  • Earned silver in the 200 fly at the ECAC Winter Championships
  • Won the 200 fly at the NJIT Invitational, besting 14 other competitors
  • 2021-22
  • Earned silver – and was just edged by teammate Oliver Gassmann – in the 200 butterfly at the America East Championships
  • Also competed in the finals of the 100 butterfly and won the “B” finals of the 100 backstroke in Worcester
  • Won the 200 fly at the ECAC Winter Championships, posting a personal best time of 1:47.51

2019-20:

  • The 2020 America East Champion in the 200 butterfly
  • Swam the 1650 freestyle, 100 backstroke and 100 butterfly in the 2020 ECAC Championships, setting personal best in the latter two events
  • Also captured bronze in the 100 fly in Worcester and set personal bests in both fly events and the 500 freestyle
  • Won the 200 butterfly versus George Mason

BACKGROUND:

  • Contributed on his high school swim team to help them win their district championship for 9 consecutive years 

  • Was awarded the Waterloo award and MVP award on his club swim team

  • Was named most improved swimmer, based on percentages, four years in a row 

PERSONAL:

  • Son of Minna and Melvin Riser

  • Has two siblings, Asha and Maya

  • He is a fan of the UT Austins Swim and Dive team

  • His favorite food is pizza
