Biography

2017-18: Two-time gold medalist at the America East Championships… Finished the 200 IM in a time of 1:49.30… Also took first in the 400 IM in a time of 3:55.20… Earned a bronze medal in the 200 free, touching the wall in a time of 1:40.51… Earned a gold medal with the men’s 800 free relay team… Earned the Dave Alexander Coaches’ Award for most points in a meet by a senior… Earned All-America East honors… Named to the America East All-Academic Team.

2016-17:  In the ECAC Championships he competed in the 50 back, 100 breast, 200 IM, and 400 IM…. He placed second in the 200 IM with a time of 1:48.24 and 400 IM in a new school record 3:53.39… Earned fourth place in the 100 breast with a time of 55.65… Helped earn UMBC a first-place finish in the 200 medley relay, finishing the back split with a time of 23.42… Also helped the Retrievers earn a first-place finish in the 800 relay in an ECAC record of 6:32.31… At the CCSA Championships, he was a champion in the 200 IM with a time of 1:48.04… He was also a two-time finalist in the 400 IM and 200 breast… He was timed at 3:53.68 in the 400 IM, earning him second place… In the 200 breast, he earned seventh place with a time of 2:02.60.

2015-16: Defended his ECAC Championship crown in the 200 IM, repeating as champion with a time of 1:48.19... Earned a seventh place finish in the 100 breast at ECAC's, finishing the race in a time of 56.17... Was a three time medalist at the CCSA Championships, earning medals in the 200 IM, 400 IM, and 200 back... Finished the 200 IM in second place with a time of 1:46.63, while placing fourth in the 400 IM (3:55.80) and fifth in the 200 back (1:47.99)... CCSA All-Academic Team... CSCAA Scholar All-American.

2014-15: Made an immediate impact on the Retriever program in 2014-15... Helped the Retriever men win the CCSA Championship thanks to his one gold medal and two silver medals at the championships... He won the 200 IM with a time of 1:46.66, qualifying him for the ECAC meet... His first of two silver medals came in the 400 IM, where he turned in a time of 3:53.95... His other silver medal came in the 200 backstroke, where he touched the wall in 1:47.58... At the ECAC meet in Pittsburgh, he took home fourth place in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 55.45... He earned 13th overall in the 200 breast after coming in fifth in the consolation heat with a time of 2:06.53... Won gold in the 200 IM with a time of 1:48.14... Named CCSA Rookie of the Year... Named CCSA All-Academic Team.

Background: Earned a first place finish in the Central European Games in the 100 breast… Finished second in the Comen Cup in the 100 breast… Was a semifinalist at the European Juniors (2011) in Belgrade and in 2012 in Antwerp… Earned the distinction of Best Serbian Junior Swimmer in 2012… Holds a national record in the 4x100IM.
