Seven Retrievers Qualify for NCAA Track & Field East Regional

BALTIMORE - Seven members of the UMBC Track & Field team qualified for the NCAA East Regional, the NCAA announced on Thursday afternoon. The event is being held May 27-30 at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky. 

The qualifiers are:

Enazajah Young - 100m Hurdles 
Ojigwe Olua -110m Hurdles 
Justin Febles- 400m Hurdles 
Iosif Papa- Discus 
Ava Roberts - Shot Put & Discus 
Toren Burr- Javelin 
Jacob Martin- 800m 

The top 48 declared student-athletes will be accepted into the first-round competitions for each individual event.

There are two first rounds, one for the east region and one for the west region. The qualifiers out of these two regions will compete in the 2026 NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon in June.
