BALTIMORE -- The UMBC Softball team completed a four-game weekend sweep of visiting Holy Cross with a pair of victories on Sunday at The Diamond.
The Retrievers (10-8) took game one, 7-2, before shutting out the Crusaders, 5-0, in the finale.

Emily Riggs and
Taylor Nicholson hit back-to-back RBI doubles in the first to put the Dawgs up 2-0. The guests homered in the top of the second to trim the deficit in half, but
Sophie Anderson blasted her first career homer in the bottom of the inning to make it 3-1.
Abbie Frisvold's sacrifice fly in the third was answered by a Holy Cross run in the top of the fifth to make it 4-2, but Riggs hit a solo homer in the fifth to push the lead back to three.
Ella Squaires drove in a run on a sixth inning groundout and Riggs added an RBI single to account for the final score.
Maggie Frisvold pitched all seven innings, striking out seven, walking one and allowing just four hits. Nicholson and Riggs each had three hit games, while Squaires,
Jolie Torrens and Rilley Gallagher also had hits for the Dawgs.
UMBC 5, Holy Cross 0
UMBC put up a three spot in the first on a Nicholson two-run homer and an
Amaya Carroll RBI single.
Kenzie Nicholson added a fifth inning sacrifice fly and
Catelyn Thrush had an RBI single in the sixth to complete the scoring. A. Frisvold and Gallagher also had hits in the contest for the Retrievers.
Jayda Koontz was once again dominant int he circle, going all seven innings with five strikeouts, one walk and scattering five hits.
The Dawgs are scheduled to host Niagara for a doubleheader on Tuesday.
