BOSTON - Junior
Lexi Tepper was named America East Women's Cross Country Performer of the Week after a second-place showing at the Cantello Invitational hosted by Navy on Saturday. This is Tepper's second #AEWXC Performer of the Week honor after a victory at the Mount 5K Duals in 2024 earned her the
honor for the first time.
Tepper ran the 6K course in 22:47.6, finishing second behind Navy's Juliet Frum. Tepper's time was just under six seconds faster than third place as she posted her second top-two finish of the season. The Cherry Hill, N.J. native picked up a race victory on the opening weekend of the season at the Mount 5K Duals getting her off to a red-hot start in 2025 after an all-conference season in 2024.
Tepper's effort helped UMBC to a second-place finish behind Navy, besting Division I foes Mount St. Mary's and Loyola (Md.).
Saturday marked the third time Tepper has competed at the Cantello Invitational, finishing 29th as a freshman, fifth as a sophomore, and second as a junior.
UMBC returns to action on October 3 at the Paul Short Invite in Bethlehem, Pa.
