Vestal, NY – The UMBC Softball team's season came to an end on Saturday evening in the America East Softball Tournament.

 

The team fell to Binghamton 3-0 to drop to the losers bracket and then lost to Bryant, 2-1.

 

Against Binghamton:

Amaya Carroll doubled in the second inning to have the first hit of the game. The Retrievers got out of a jam in the bottom of the fourth with a triple play starting with Mikayla Bryant catching a line drive at second to then turn a 63. Amya Lundy had the only other hit for the Retrievers in the loss. 

Against Bryant: 

The Retrievers faced Bryant in the elimination game and fell, 2-1. Ella Squaires led the team going 3-4 with the lone run scored. Emily Riggs had the RBI single in the third inning. Jerzie Nutile and Carroll also each had a hit in the game. Kya Matter pitched all seven innings while only giving up two hits and striking out three batters.
