Vestal, N.Y. -- Down to its final out and trailing 8-0, the UMBC Softball team reeled off six straight runs and eventually had the tying run on base, before falling 8-6 at league-leading Binghamton on Saturday afternoon. The hosts took game one, 5-1.

UMBC put up four in the sixth on a Maggie Frisvold RBI single, another RBI single from Torrens and a two-run single from Riggs. The Retrievers got two-runners on with one out in the top of the seventh, but a pair of fly outs ended the game.

Lundy drove in UMBC's only run in game one, with a sacrifice fly that scored Nutile in the sixth. Abby Brenowtiz and Haley Luginbill joined Nutile, Riggs and Frisvold with hits in the contest.
