UMBC Softball's
Jerzie Nutile was named the America East Player of the Week, the Conference announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Nutile had a 2.000 OPS hitting .500 with 4 extra-base hits including three homers and drove in six runs for the Reetrievers last weekend.
Nutile added another hit on Tuesday afternoon, but the Dawgs fell at Towson 4-0.
Haley Luginbill,
Kya Matter (double) and Catlyn Thrush also had hits for UMBC. Thrush also drew a walk, as did
Skyler Smith who also reached base on a hit by pitch.
Matter was solid in the circle, striking out 8 and allowing just three earned runs in 5.1 innings of work.
Maggie Frisvold entered and retired both batters she faced to wrap the sixth.
UMBC hosts George Mason on Wednesday night.
