College Park, Md. -- Courtney Johnson drove in her first career run with a fourth inning single as the UMBC Softball team closed out non-conference play with a 14-1 defeat in five innings at Maryland. 

Ashley Della Guardia, Macy Granzow and Emily Riggs all walked, while Amaya Carroll and Amya Lundy each reached via hit-by-pitch. Lundy scored UMBC's run on Johnson's single
