Kolby Weedon scored a game-high four goals as the UMBC Women's Lacrosse team stayed atop the America East with an 11-7 win over host Vermont on Saturday.
It's the Retrievers first ever four game America East winning-streak.
Isabella Fontana made 12 saves, including six pivotal stops in the second quarter, to pick up the victory.
How it Happened:
- After Vermont took a 1-0 lead, Lizzie Bateman and Grace Bruce tallied markers to put UMBC up 2-1
- The Catamounts tied it up, but Weedon scored with just under two minutes to go to send the Dawgs Into the second up 3-2
- Katana Nelson scored twice in the second to match the hosts and keep UMBC up 5-4 at the half
- The Retrievers outscored Vermont 5-0 in the third behind a pair of goals from Weedon and goals from Bruce, Libby Staples and Lauryn Warfield
- Weedon added her fourth and final goal that made it 11-4 early in the fourth, before UVM scored three in the closing minutes
Ella Killian had three ground balls, two caused turnovers and four draw controls in the win
UMBC hosts Binghamton for senior day next Saturday
