  • UMBC improved to 2-1 on the season and 2-0 at home in 2024, while GW slipped to 1-2.

  • UMBC led, 7-2, at intermission and the Revolutionaries cut the deficit to 7-3 at the 4:43 mark of the third quarter. But junior Grace Bruce converted a Mary Ellis feed on an extra-player opportunity at the 9:04 mark, starting the critical 3-0 Retriever run. Nelson notched a pair of unassisted tallies to end the third quarter, giving the hosts a 10-3 lead after 45 minutes.
  • GW opened the final period with a goal, but Weedon completed her hat trick at the 5:57 mark, converting a rebound, and junior Alexis Abe finalized the scoring with 5:55 remaining in the contest.
  • Weedon added an assist for a game-best four-point effort and also led all players with seven draw controls. Bruce reached multiple goals (2) for the third consecutive game in a UMBC uniform and Ellis tallied a pair of assists.
  • For Weedon, the 3-goal game was the 14th in her career, while Nelson recorded her fourth.
