The UMBC women's and men's swimming and diving squads will get a major test as they travel to Fairfax, Va. to take on George Mason in a dual meet on Saturday, Jan. 27. The meet gets underway at 1:00 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN+.

What Have You Done for me Lately: UMBC seniors led the way on Senior Day as the Retrievers cruised to victory over Salisbury University and Frostburg State on Jan. 20.

Senior Daniel Nicusan cruised to victory in the 100 backstroke and 100 breaststroke to pace the men. Classmate Bode Neale duplicated Hill's feat and won the 100 freestyle.
The women defeated Salisbury, 148-57 and Frostburg State, 162-43, while the men triumphed over Salisbury, 149-56 and Frostburg State, 155-50.

Notes: Freshman diver Andy Vines has earned a pair of America East Conference Diver of the Week honors (Oct. 31, Dec. 5)… senior Daniel Nicusan was selected for the honor on Nov. 21.

Last Year vs. Mason: Senior Daniel Nicusan and junior Oliver Gassmann combined to win five events as the Retrievers defeated the Patriots, 173-127 on Jan. 21, 2023. Nicusan earned three golds for the first time in his career, posting victories in the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke events and the 200 individual medley, while Gassmann took the 200 and 100 butterfly competitions.

UMBC has won all three dual meets versus Mason since 2016-17.
 
UMBC's divers will compete at the Navy Diving Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 3. The entire team travels to VMI for the 2023-24 America East Conference Swimming and Diving Championships from Feb. 14-17. Tickets are available at https://www.ticketreturn.com/prod2new/team.asp?SponsorID=17275.
