College Park, Md. -- Lyndsey Evix (Cumberland, Md.) continued her torrid pace at the plate with a single and a double, but the visiting UMBC Softball team fell to Maryland, 9-0, in five innings on Wednesday night.

Jerzie Nutile (Pasadena, Md.) and Meghan Dempsey (Collegeville, Pa.) each had hits for the Retrievers.

Madison O'Berg (Lorain, Ohio) worked a scoreless bottom of the fourth, while Amaya Carroll (Hanover, Md.) retired the final five batters she faced.

Madison Wilson (Abingdon, Md.) and Emily Riggs (Lancaster, Pa.) each reached via walk.

UMBC returns to America East play this weekend when it hosts Maine for a three game series at The Diamond. First pitch for Saturday's doubleheader is scheduled for noon.
