Women's Lacrosse Set to Host Delaware on Wednesday Afternoon

LAST TIME OUT

- Junior attacker Dymin Gerow scored four goals and added an assist as the host UMBC Retrievers pulled away from the Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers, 15-10, on Saturday afternoon at chilly UMBC Stadium.
 - Gerow scored the game-winning goal on a free position shot with just forty seconds left in the third quarter and then added two more markers in the fourth quarter to help put the Mount away.
 - The Retrievers, who went 5-for-9 on free-position attempts, received a pair of goals from senior Claire Bockstie, graduate student Lauren Cremen, sophomore Kolby Weedon, senior Megan Halczuk (8 draw controls) and senior Jenna McDermott. Bockstie, who also handed out a game-high three assists, moved into a tie for eighth place with Laurie Linnell ''87 on UMBC's all-time goals' list with 129 markers.
 - Junior goalkeeper Isabella Fontana made nine saves and recorded five ground balls for UMBC. Senior Madison Bradley kept the Mount in the game for most of the afternoon as she made 14 saves, including 11 in the opening half.
 - UMBC outshot the visitors by a 37-28 margin and controlled 18 out of 28 draws.
Bockstie is fourth in the America East in scoring (5.00 points per game) while Halczuk leads the circuit in draw controls per game (8.67).
 
A GLANCE AT THE BLUE HENS
- Delaware came up with an 18-9 win against Old Dominion in Newark on Saturday. Danielle Livornese tied a program record with 12 draw controls.
- Twelve different players scored for the Blue Hens, highlighted by a career-high four by Livornese.
- The 16 caused turnovers were the ninth most in program history.
- UD is playing their first road game of the season today.
- Livornese has recorded a hat-trick in all four games and leads the Colonial with 13 goals.
- Delaney McDaniel and Madison Hranicka were named to the CAA Preseason All-Conference Team.
- The Blue Hens were picked fifth in the CAA Preseason Poll.
