BOSTON - For the second time this season, UMBC freshman diver
Andy Vines earned America East Conference Diver of the Week honors.
Vines placed second in 1-meter diving event with a score of 280.90 at the Bucknell Invitational. He was seeded sixth after the preliminary round. In the 3-meter competition, Vines amassed a tally of 276.70, good for fifth place.
He helped UMBC to a third-place finish against an outstanding field at Bucknell.
The first-year Retriever also won the award on October 31, after earning Diver of the Meet honors at Loyola-Maryland's Thomas Murphy Invitational.
UMBC will not compete until their Senior Day Meet versus Salisbury University and Frostburg State University on Saturday, Jan. 20 at 1:00 p.m. The team will train in Florida in early January prior to resuming their intercollegiate schedule.
