South Orange, N.J.- In their final dual meet of the campaign, the UMBC women's swimming and diving squads dropped a 169.5-104.5 decision at Seton Hall on the Pirates' Senior Day.
Junior Jenna Gwinn (Baltimore, Md./Mount de Sales) continued her brilliant campaign by winning both breaststroke events and swimming the breaststroke leg on the Retrievers' winning 200 medley relay quartet. Gwinn has won seven consecutive individual races and ten overall in 2021-22.
The meet was the Retrievers' first outside competition since Dec. 3-5 when they placed second in the ECAC Championships.
"Today was a tough meet against a great opponent," said Head Coach Matt Donovan. "It was exciting to see the team race after a long layoff. I enjoyed watching our team put up a great fight all day long. We are positioned well moving forward and we are excited for the post season run."
Junior Sierra Tosten (Hagerstown, Md.) picked up UMBC's other individual gold of the meet, capturing the 100 yard butterfly. Tosten and graduate student Natalija Marin (Belgrade, Serbia) finished 1-2 in the event.
