Coming off a second-straight America East title, the UMBC Softball team unveiled its 2022 schedule on Thursday morning. 

2021 America East Coach of the Year Chris Kuhlmeyer begins his fourth season at the helm with 16 consecutive games at newly renovated The Diamond at UMBC.  From February 19-March 6, the Retrievers will host three tournaments in which they will play two games apiece against Seton Hall, Saint Joseph's, Coppin State, Georgetown, Morgan State and St. John's. UMBC will then host a single game against Brown on March 11, followed by a three game series against Hofstra to close the weekend.

The Retrievers hit the road for the first time when they make the short trip to College Park to face Maryland at 6 p.m. on March 16, but immediately return home to host the UMBC Spring Invite that weekend featuring three games against Lafayette and a pair against Quinnipiac. 

A mid-week road doubleheader at George Mason closes the March schedule and America East play begins the weekend of April 2 when UAlbany comes to Baltimore for a three game series. Conference series' at Hartford and Maine are sandwiched around a home America East doubleheader against Stony Brook on April 13. The Retrievers close non-conference play at Towson on April 20 before closing out the three game series against Stony Brook with a single game on Long Island on April 27.

The final home series of the season begins on April 30 when UMBC hosts UMass Lowell, with the 30th being Breast Cancer Awareness Day and May 1 being Senior Day. The schedule concludes with three games at Binghamton the following weekend.

The top six teams in the standings qualify for the America East Tournament which will be held at Stony Brook.
