Box Score Emmitsburg, Md. -- Three Retrievers scored two goals, and goalkeeper Sophie Shucosky (Lutherville, Md.) came on in relief and tied a career-high with six saves, but the visiting UMBC Women's Lacrosse Team fell to host Mount St. Mary's, 20-8, on Wednesday afternoon.
Claire Bockstie (Forest Hill, Md.), Zoë Pekins (Columbia, Md.) and Courtney Renehan (Mt.Airy, Md.) had two goals apiece, while Olivia Docal (Glennwood, Md.) and Lily Kennedy (Marriottsville, Md.) each scored a goal as well. Freshman Shannon Finch (Woodbine, Md.) added an assist for the Retrievers (1-2).
UMBC had 14 draw controls, led by Renehan who had a game-best six draw controls to go with a caused turnover, and freshman Megan Halczuk (Fawn Grove, Pa.) tallied a career-high five draw controls. Pekins added two caused turnovers, a draw control and a ground ball.
The Retrievers have the weekend off before hosting Bucknell at 5 p.m. next Wednesday, February 25.
