Box Score BALTIMORE - The UMBC women's lacrosse team fell in its America East opener, 16-5, to the #17 Stony Brook Seawolves on Wednesday afternoon.

Stony Brook opened the game on a four-goal run before Lauren McDonald (Catonsville, Md./Catonsville) and Rachel Ridgley (Owings Mills, Md./Franklin) scored back-to-back off assists from Payton Van Kirk (Ocean City, Md./Stephen Decatur) to cut the Seawolves' lead to 4-2.
The Seawolves scored three more before Grayson Corbett (Ellicott City, Md./Wilde Lake) netted a pass from Lily Kennedy (Marriottsville, Md./Marriotts Ridge) with 40 seconds left in the first half to make the score 7-3 at halftime.
Out of the break, Stony Brook took a 9-3 lead before McDonald and Van Kirk teamed up again to bring the score to 9-4.
The Seawolves scored three goals to extend their lead to 12-4 before McDonald broke it up by scoring on a free position shot. Stony Brook would close out the game on a four-goal run.
