White and Nwanaga Head to Eugene for NCAA Championships

Baltimore, Md. – UMBC track and field will send senior Tony White and freshman Kelechi Nwanaga to compete in the NCAA Championships, hosted by the University of Oregon at Hayward Field.  Both will be taking part in the javelin throw.

White will compete on Wednesday and is scheduled to begin at 5:45 PM.  White earned his spot in the championships after finishing sixth in the preliminaries two weeks ago.  White finished with a throw of 64.55m.

Nwanaga will compete on Thursday at 5:15 PM.  The freshman earned her spot after her best throw in Tampa of 51.18m.  This distance was good for sixth as well. 

Fans can watch the NCAA Championships with the majority of events being streamed on ESPN3, while select events will be shown on ESPN and ESPN2.
