Cody Breaks School 400m Hurdles Record at NCAA East Prelims

Tampa, Fla. – UMBC junior Jamal Cody broke his own school record at Friday's NCAA East Preliminaries in Tampa, Florida.

Cody's time was 51.10, which broke the record previously held by himself.  The junior finished in 14th in the quarterfinals, missing a spot in the NCAA Finals by just two spots. 

Sophomore Kaya Knake also competed in the 800m quarterfinals, finishing in 2:08.03.  Knake's time was good for 18th, finishing six spots from qualifying for the NCAA Finals.

Senior Tony White will wrap up competition for the Retrievers on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. when he takes part in the men's javelin finals.
