Bowman Takes Fourth in Shotput, Track and Field Finishes Day Two of Penn Relays

Philadelphia, Pa. — Senior Russell Bowman took fourth place in Saturday's shotput event at the Penn Relays, tossing a distance of 16.81m. This distance was also Bowman's personal best. 
 
Also for the men, the 4x200m team of James Oakley III, Brian Nelson, John Oputa, and Noel Njem qualified for the Eastern finals on Saturday with a time of 1:26.11, after placing 10th in Friday's event. The 4x100m team of Oakely, Oputa, Nelson, and Donald Duncan also qualified for the Eastern finals with a time of 41.67. 
 
The 4x400m team of Nelson, Oakley, Oputa, and Jamal Cody ran their event in 3:16.55 to also qualify for the Eastern finals. Cody also ran the 400m hurdles in 53.80. 
 
The women's 4x100m team of Funmi Daramola, Amani Wallace, Kara Patrice, and Erin Patrice came in seventh with a time of 46.63, while the 4x200m team of Daramola, Wallace, Erin Patrice, and Yinka Alabi finished their event in 1:41.13. 
 
The Retrievers will finish the Penn Relays on Saturday.
