UMBC Opens NCAA Preliminaries on Thursday in Jacksonville

Jacksonville, Fla.—UMBC senior Paulette Fogle completed her collegiate career on Thursday in the 400m hurdles. Fogle finished 29th overall and fourth in her heat in the event.

The senior from Washington, D.C. crossed the tape in a time of 59.54. The time was good enough for a fourth place finish in her heat. The time placed her 29th overall in the event, as the top 24 qualified for tomorrow's quarterfinal round with a chance to head to Eugene, Ore.

Vincent Rentzsch will be the lone Retriever in competition tomorrow, as he looks for a spot in the finals of the javelin throw. There are three heats, with the top twelve overall heading to the finals in Eugene. The event begins at noon.
