Drean, Gray Knock Off No. 2 Seeds, Advance to Semis of ITA Regionals

Charlottesville, Va. – The UMBC doubles tandem of Daniel Gray (Bowie, Md./The Bullis School) and junior Alex Drean (Bayonne, France) advanced to the semifinals of the 2014 ITA Atlantic Regionals on Sunday.  

The seventh-seeded duo advanced to the semis by defeating the second-seeded pairing (ranked 34 nationally) of Dias/Tverijonas of George Washington, 8-7 (5).  

Gray and Drean will now take on the duo of eighth-seeded Monteiro/Corbett of Virginia Tech on Monday.

The winners of the singles and double flights earn automatic bids to the USTA/ITA National Indoor Championships at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, New York, Nov. 6-9.
