BALTIMORE, Md.-- Sophomore Imani Colbert (Upper Marlboro, Md./C.H. Flowers) broke the school record in the 100-meter hurdles, junior Keith Onto (Point Pleasant, N.J./Point Pleasant Boro/St. Francis (PA)) provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships in the decathlon and four men took home gold at the Morgan State Legacy Meet, held in Baltimore Friday and Saturday.
Colbert finished her 100-meter hurdles qualifier in 14.15, breaking her own record by .01 of a second. She went to finish third in the finals.
Senior Britney Foreman (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) finished fourth in the 100-meter dash in an ECAC-qualifying time of 11.92, just .02 over the school mark.
On the men's side, senior Camal Pugh (Clinton, Md./Oxon Hill) and Onto both earned gold medals and qualified for the IC4A Championships in May in the 110-meter hurdles and the decathlon, respectively. Pugh finished the hurdles in 14.59, while Onto finished with 6,946 points in the decathlon, which ranks in the Top 30 in the country.
Freshman Evan Palmer (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenandoah) and Sam Boimov also finished first in the discus throw and the 5,000-meter run, respectively. Palmer had a throw of 43.93m (144'1"), while Boimov finished in 16:00.25.
The UMBC men also picked up two silvers, in the hammer throw and the 1,500-meter run. Freshman Cameron McDearmon (Owings Mills, Md./Franklin) threw the hammer 48.87m (159'6"), while fellow freshman TJ Cowing(Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) finished the 1,500 in atime of 4:04.49.
The Retrievers return to action next weekend for the Penn Relays, held in Philadelphia.
