UMBC Track and Field Wins Two Events at Bucknell Team Challenge

LEWISBURG, Pa.-- The UMBC outdoor track and field teams earned two wins and two silvers at the Bucknell Team Challenge in Lewisburg, Pa.

On the men's side, junior Adrian Arthur (Bowie, Md./Bowie) won the 100-meter dash and junior Antonio Thomas (Columbia, Md./Long Reach) placed third in IC4A-qualifyng times of 10.72 and 10.80, respectively. Arthur also won the 200-meter dash in an IC4A-qualifying time of 21.33. Junior Jason Powell (Bowie, Md./Eleanor Roosevelt) earned bronze in the 200 in a time of 21.95.

On the women's side, junior Sara Parkinson (Chorley, England/Loughborough University) placed second in the 1,500-meter run in 4:39.02, while senior Toni Boyd (Waldorf, Md./Westlake) earned silver in the javelin throw with a throw of 39.13m.

The Retrievers return to action next weekend at the world famous Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa.
