Matteo Picarelli is the UMBC Athlete of the Week after a pair of stellar performances in a 2-0 week for the Retrievers. On Friday, he led five Retrievers in double figures, recording career bests in points (19) and 3-point field goals (5). Two days later against CCSU, he then re-set his career high again, finishing with 21 points on 5-of-8 shooting from 3-point range. On Sunday, he tied the game twice in the final 2:04 of the game. He knocked down three free throws at that mark of the game and then buried his fifth trey of the game with 31 seconds remaining to knot the score at 76-all.
