Winter Evans is the UMBC Athlete of the Week after she was named America East Rookie of the Week due to a strong showing this weekend at the JMU Invite.

Evans competed in three events this weekend, earning an event victory for the second consecutive weekend as she clocked a time of 14.07 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles. Additionally, she placed fourth in the high jump with a leap of 1.58 meters, and helped the Retrievers to a third-place finish in the 4x100 relay with a time of 46.85. 

On UMBC's all-time performance list, Evans currently ranks second in the 100 hurdles with a PR time of 13.94 seconds, and third in the high jump with a PR jump of 1.68 meters.
