UMBC freshman attacker Emily Knapp is the UMBC Athlete of the Week after she was named as the America East Conference Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week on Monday afternoon. She is the first Retriever to earn the award since Kolby Weedon during the 2022 campaign.

Knapp exploded for a combined 11 goals, four assists, six ground balls, and four caused turnovers in leading the Retrievers to a pair of run-away wins against Delaware State and Howard.

The Abingdon, Maryland native opened her career with five goals and an assist at Delaware State on February 11, and racked up six markers to go along with three helpers in the home opener versus Howard.
