L.J. Owens (Annapolis, Md./Severn School/William & Mary) was named UMBC Athlete of the Week after helping lead the Retrievers to a 2-0 week with wins against UAlbany and New Hampshire. Owens had 10 points in a win at UAlbany before pouring in a season-high 19 points against New Hampshire on February 5th.

Owens is averaging 10.3 ppg this year and is shooting 43 percent from three point range in 2021-22.
