Tyler Edson is the UMBC Athlete of the Week after he was named the America East Conference Track & Field Athlete of the Week on Tuesday morning.

Edson crossed the line in 1:48.59 in the men's 800m to set a new UMBC school-record last weekend at the Penn State National Open.

The sophomore also ran the 1200m leg on the Retriever's school-record DMR that clocked a time of 9:40.98, the nation's 3rd fastest mark this season. He also holds the top-time in the conference in the 1,000 meters this season with an effort of 2:22.63.
