Freshman forward Matteo Samori is the UMBC Athlete of the Week after he was named the #AEMSOC Rookie of the Week on Monday.

The Retrievers turned in a dominant effort on Friday night at Retriever Soccer Park, blanking the Saint Joseph's Hawks by a score of 4-0. UMBC finished out the scoring in the 70th minute on  Samori's first career goal. Samori gathered in a rebound after Joseph Picotto bounced a shot off the left post.
