Ava Roberts is the UMBC Athlete of the Week after she was named the America East Conference Women's Indoor Track and Field Performer of the Week for her efforts at the Nittany Lion Challenge on Saturday, Jan. 13.

Roberts threw a personal best mark of 14.82m in the shot put, good for a fifth place finish out of 25 competitors.  Her mark leads the America East Conference and is fifth in the Mid-Atlantic Region in the early going and she maintains her standing in fourth place all-time in the indoor shot put at UMBC.
