Junior Baraka Sila is the UMBC Athlete of the Week after he paced the Retrievers at the Navy Invitational on the USNA Golf Course, posting a 15th place finish, while shattering his time for the 4.9-race from a year ago Sila started and finished in strong fashion, leading the race at the mile mark, then besting five competitors in the final mile to post a mark of 25:33.8. In 2022, he crossed the line in 26:20.7.
