Biography

2016 Outdoor: Set career bests in two events during her final season... Recorded a season best in the 1,500m at the Larry Ellis Invite with a time of 4:56.29... Had a career best finish in the 3,000m steeplechase, crossing the tape in a time of 11:25.01.

2015-16 Indoor: Participated in distance events for the Retrievers during the indoor season... Had a season best time of 5:12.85 at the Sykes & Sabock Challenge in the mile, while running a 10:37.29 in the 3,000m at the Terrapin Invitational. 

2015 Outdoor: Competed in the 800m run and 3,000m steeplechase for the Retrievers during her first outdoor season... Recorded a time of 11:37.03 in the steeplechase at the Morgan State Legacy meet... Opened the season with a season best in the 800m, finishing in a time of 2:32.69 at the Big Dawg Invitational.

2014-15 Indoor: Competing in distance events for the Retrievers in her first season in Baltimore... Set a season best time of 5:07.32 in the one mile run at the Penn State Relays... Crossed the tape in a time of 10:17.26 at the Metro Team Challenge in the 3,000m run... Also competed in the 5,000m run, where she set her season best time at the Sykes & Sabock Challenge with a time of 18:14.65.

Background: Attended Florida Southern College as a freshman… Took first at the 2013 B&A Trail Half Marathon… Also played lacrosse at Annapolis High, earning Second Team All-County Honors in 2011… Gained an Honorable Mention on the All-County Team in 2012… Played three years on varsity for the Panthers, captaining the team as a senior.

Personal: Daughter of David and Jackie Govatos… Has one older brother, Jason… Plans to follow the pre-med tracking by majoring in biology… Born Mar. 31, 1994.
