Biography

2016-17 Indoor: Competed in the 3000m and 5000m… Ran a season best in the 3000m with a 10:54.56 at the 2017 Great Dance Classic.

2017 Outdoor: Ran in four different events during the outdoor season… Set a new career best in the 5000m with a 18:30 at the George Mason Spring Invitational.

2016 Outdoor: Did not run in the outdoor season.

2015-16 Indoor: Competed in distance events for the Retrievers during the winter season... Had a season best time in the mile at the Penn State Relays with a time of 5:34.63... Posted a career best in the 3,000m run at the Great Dane Classic with a time of 10:53.36, while running a 20:09.44 in the 5,000m at the Terrapin Invite.

2015 Outdoor: Participated in mainly the 5,000m run during the spring season... Recorded her best time of the season at the Big Dawg Invitational to open the season... She ran a time of 19:42.60.

2014-15 Indoor: Competed as a distance runner during her first indoor season in Baltimore... Recorded season best times in the 3,000m and 5,000m runs... Crossed the tape in a time of 11:19.85 at the Penn State Relays in the 3k... Set a season best in the 5k at the Terrapin Invitational with a time of 19:41.68.

Background: Named to the All Southern Maryland Athletic Conference First Team her sophomore through senior seasons… Named SMAC Runner of the Year her sophomore campaign… Helped lead her team to a Maryland 2A Cross Country State Championship… Earned High Honors, and was a member of the National Honor Society in high school. 

Personal: Daughter of Katherine and Richard Mattson… Has one brother, Michael… Undecided on a major… Born Oct. 9, 1996.
