Biography
2015: Finished her career having ran in every race for the Retrievers... Ran in the opening races at the Mount 5k Duals (19:56) and the Wolfie Invite (21:04) before heading to the Paul Short Invitational, finishing in 23:10... Took to the Princeton Invitational for a finishing time of 23:31... Scored for the Retrievers at the America East Championships crossing the finish line in a time of 20:10... Ended the year at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals, finishing in 23:59.
2014: Competed in every meet for the Retrievers as a junior... Started the year placing 22nd at the Mount 5K Duals with a time of 19:01... Recorded a time of 23:45 at the Salty Dog Invitational and a time of 22:17 at the Paul Short Invitational... Posted a time of 18:59 at the America East Championships, placing 28th in the event... Named to the America East Commissioners' Honor Roll.
2013: Led the Retrievers across the line twice and scored in each of UMBC’s six competitions as a sophomore… Paced the Retrievers for the first time in her career by placing 11th overall at the season-opening America East Pre-Conference Meet at Binghamton on Sept. 7… Crossed the line first for UMBC the next weekend as well in Annapolis, Md. at the Salty Dog Invitational… Recorded a career-best run at the meet at Navy, finishing with a time of 21:58.88, the seventh-fastest for that distance in program history… Lowered her 5k time on the course at Binghamton to 19:12.34 at the America East Conference Championships to help UMBC earn its best-ever team finish, fifth… Selected to the America East All-Academic Team… Named to the America East Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
2012: Competed in and scored in each of UMBC's seven competitions, the only Retriever to do so... Scored at both the America East Championships and NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals... Recorded a career-best 6k time of 23:29.20 at the Princeton Invitational on Oct. 13... Finished 47th at the conference meet at New Hampshire with a 5k time of 18:43.03... Named to the America East Commissioner's Honor Roll.
Background: Finished 7th at the Maryland 3A State Championships as a senior in 2011... Placed fifth the year before as a junior at the 2A state meet... Howard County champion in the 3200m at the 2011 meet... Led Hammond to the county and regional championships in indoor track as a senior... An 11-time Scholar Athlete Award recipient... A member of the National Honor Society and the editor of Hammond's school newspaper, The Bear Press, from 2010-2011.
