  • UMBC's No. 3 finisher at the America East Championships (41st, 18:37.8).
  • Placed 76th overall at the ECAC Championships (22.48.1).
  • Finished 55th at Lehigh with a time of 22:45.3

2023
  • UMBC's top performer at the Mount St. Mary's 5k Duals with a time of 20:36.31 (23rd place).
  • Finished 53rd overall and was UMBC's No. 3 finisher (25:19.66) at the 6k Navy Invitational.
  • Was also the Retrievers' No. finisher at the 6k Paul Short Invitational with a time of 24:16.6
  • Also scored points with a 59th place result (20:14.02) at the 5k America East Conference Championships.

2022
  • Debuted as UMBC’s No. 3 finisher (11th overall) at Mount St. Mary’s 5k Duals and also UMBC No. 3 finisher in three other meets in her initial campaign
  • Finished with a time of 23:23.9 as the third scorer for the Retrievers at The Paul Short Run, improving by over a minute compared to her finish at Navy.
  • Named the team’s Most Improved Athlete at the 2022-23 Gritty Awards

BACKGROUND
  • Helped the Hawks to a regional cross country title and a state championship in both indoor and outdoor track & field in her senior year
  • Ran a personal best of 5:23 in the 1600 meters at the 2022 Scorpion Classic, despite fasting for Ramadan
  • A Gold Honor Roll member in all four years at Urbana and a member of the National Honor Society and the National Math Honor Society
  • Considering a major in computer science
  • Likes seafood and the music of Weezer
  • Played first violin in her high school orchestra and was president of the crochet club
  • Daughter of Meryem Cherkaoui and Khalid Beraich
