Jeffrey Liu

Jeffrey Liu enters his second season with the Retrievers after joining the volleyball staff as an assistant coach in August of 2014.

Liu graduated from Stevens Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in business and technology in 2008. During his time at Stevens, the Livingston, N.J. native founded the men’s club volleyball team and served as the squad’s assistant coach and four-year team captain.

Liu also found time during his collegiate years to gain coaching experience at his high school, Livingston High School, serving as the boys’ junior varsity assistant coach in his first two seasons (2004-05), the girls’ junior varsity assistant coach for two seasons (2005-06) and an assistant coach for the girls’ varsity team for six seasons (2006-11).

Liu gained his first collegiate coaching experience at Division III University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, Conn. in 2012-13 as the team’s assistant coach and technical skills director. During that time, Liu was also able to get his first taste of head coaching with the CT Volleyball Academy (2012-14).

Most recently, Liu served as a volunteer coach and DataVolley intern with the US Women’s National Team.

Liu is USA Volleyball IMPACT, USA Volleyball Beach IMPACT and USA Volleyball CAP I certified. He also has level I training in Gold Medal Squared and is a Level II certified Double Goal coach by the Positive Coaching Alliance. Liu is a member of National Federation of State High School Coaches and the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
