Biography

2022 Outdoor: Competed solely in the shot put during the 2022 outdoor season… Had her best toss of the season at the Bison Outdoor Classic with a throw of 13.13m.

2021-22 Indoor: Competed solely in the shot put during her first indoor season as a Retriever… Earned a silver medal at the America East Championships with her season-best toss of 14.25m.

2021-22

  • Captured second place in the 2022 America East indoor championships with a throw of 14.25m, the fourth-best mark in school history.
2020-21
  • One of three 2021 UMBC track and field Most Valuable Athletes
  • Captured a silver medal in the shot put at the 2021 America East Championships with a toss of 13.99m.  
  • Currently owns the No. 5 spot on UMBC’s outdoor shot put record chart with an effort of 14.31 in the spring of 2021 at Johns Hopkins. In the same meet, she set her season-best in the discus with a toss of 34.62m.

  • Began her collegiate career at South Plains (Texas) College  
  • A four-time Australian national shot put champion (2013-17) and the Oceanic shot put champion (2017)
  • Majoring in sociology
  • Also considered Iowa State, Arkansas State and UCF, but selected UMBC because “I built a really good connection with the throws coach (Davina Orieukwu)
  • Competed in basketball, rugby and field hockey in Australia
  • Lists her favorite professional team as the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys and her favorite movie as Moana.
  • Daughter of Ugauga and Vai Tafiti
  • The youngest of five children
