HIGH SCHOOL: A two-time Defensive MVP of the Independence High School Patriots… A four-time Scholar-Athlete Award winner… Named the Most Improved Player in 2005 and 2006… Led her team to the conference title in 2007 and to the state playoffs all four years… Also a volleyball standout at Independence, earning All-Conference honors in 2006 and 2007… Was the Patriots’ Offensive MVP as a junior and overall MVP as a senior for volleyball, as well… Also lettered in soccer for two years… Was the salutatorian of her high school class… A North Carolina Scholar, Junior Marshall, Honor Roll student and AP Scholar with Distinction… A member of the Academy of International Studies and the Order of the Patriot.

PERSONAL: Also a member of the UMBC volleyball team… One of five children to Anthony and Alma Kennedy… Is a triplet with sisters Ebony and Aja… Also has an older sister, Remika McClain, and an older brother, Samuel Currence… Father played basketball at Coker College… Chose UMBC over Presbyterian, UNC-Greensboro and St. Joseph’s because “UMBC had a nice campus, distinguished academics and a diverse student body”… Born March 3, 1990… Majoring in psychology with a pre-dentistry track... Hopes to become a dentist.
