Biography

2015 Outdoor: Competed in the pole vault for the Retrievers in the spring... Finishing in 13th place at the America East Championships, clearing a height of 4.10m... That mark tied his previous season best from the Mason Spring Invitational, where he placed 17th... Named to America East Commissioners' Honor Roll.

2014-15 Indoor: Had an indoor career best in the pole vault at the Bison Opener, tying his overall career best in the process... Cleared a height of 4.20m (13'9.25") at the meet, the best mark by a Retriever during the indoor season.

2014 Outdoor: Placed 13th in the pole vault at the 2014 America East Outdoor Track and Field Championships… Cleared a career-best height of 4.20m (13’9.25”) at the conference meet at Vermont… Posted a higher vault at each meet he competed in during the spring season… Named to the America East Honor Roll.

2013-14 Indoor: Post a season-best pole vault of 4.15m (13’7.25”) to finish tied for sixth at the Patriot Games at George Mason… Also competed at the Navy Invitational and NYU Team Challenge.

Background: Was a state qualifier in the pole vault at North Harford High School… Also qualified for states in cross country, and wrestling, all in 2010… Was named captain of the track & field team twice, while earning a sportsmanship award in 2009… He was a member of the National Honor Society, Distinguished Honor Roll, French Honor Society, Music Honor Roll, while graduating in the top 10% of his senior class.

Personal: Son of Ginny and Robert Carman… Has one sister, Laura… Majoring in Mechanical Engineering… Born on April 2, 1993.
