BALTIMORE –UMBC Swimming & Diving head coach
Matt Donovan announced the Retrievers' 2024-25 schedule, which features a Black and Gold/Alumni home meet on Sept. 21 to open the season.
"The upcoming season gives us a lot of great opportunities to prepare for the ultimate goal of being back at the top of the America East," said Donovan. "There are several old rivals and some new competition to really add excitement to the season, [and] a two-day home and home with George Washington cap the regular season. This meet will give the team an invite feel and set us up well for our final preparations for the conference season".
Following the alumni home meet, the women and men will open their competitive season against American University for family weekend at 1 pm on Saturday, Oct. 5.
UMBC will begin their road campaign when they face Navy with William & Mary in Annapolis, Md. on Saturday, Oct. 12. The teams will attend the Loyola Maryland Invitational on Oct. 25-27 and the Bucknell Invitational on Nov. 22-24.
The teams will wrap up the regular season with senior day against George Washington on Jan. 25 at 1 pm before going to George Washington for day two of the meet.
The post-season gets underway on February 19-22 when the men hope to take back their title, and the women strive to re-capture the crown at the America East Swimming & Diving Championships. The championships will be hosted in Lexington, VA, as associate league member VMI hosts at the VMI Aquatic Center.
