Men's Cross Country Sweeps Top Six Spots to Win Mount 5K Duals

Emmitsburg, MD. -- Senior Mark Unger led the way as the UMBC Men's Cross Country took the top six spots, eight of the top ten, 12 of the top 15, and 16 of the top 20 overall.

Our team set a goal to really prioritize cross country this year," said head coach Mike DuPaul. "We've had some track success, but we wanted to be equally strong at cross country. It was very rewarding for the team to see that goal become a reality."

Unger finished in 15:14.83, nearly two minutes better than his 38th place finish at the same event last year. Junior Thomas Foulkes (15.22.25), freshman Daniel Danilovitz (15:24.03), graduate student Zachary Taylor (15:32.76), and seniors Cameron Hindle (15:35.86) and Brendan Cave (15:40.22) took places 2-6.

"Mark looked really strong controlling the race from the front," said DuPaul. "Thomas and Daniel made a statement today with their breakthrough performances."
