Prodanas Finishes 19th at NCAA Championships

RESULTS

Austin, Texas—UMBC track and field junior Alexios Prodanas (Kilkis, Greece) finished the year with a 19th place finish in the hammer throw at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Prodanas was the third Retriever in the last two years and fourth since 2016 to compete at the national finals.

Prodanas had his best throw at 65.66m (215'5") on his final throw of the competition. Daniel Haugh of Kennesaw State won the event with a throw of 74.63m (244'10") to earn gold in his second to last toss.

The Greece native was the third Retriever in the last two years to compete in the national finals and fourth since 2016. Tony White and Kelechi Nwanaga competed last year in the javelin while Vincent Rentzsch competed back in 2016, also in the javelin.
