TEXAS BOUND: Alexios Prodanas Qualifies for NCAA Championship at East Preliminaries

Jacksonville, Fla.—Junior Alexios Prodanas qualified for the NCAA Championships in two weeks in Austin, Texas in the hammer throw at the NCAA East Preliminaries on Thursday. He becomes the fourth Retriever since 2016 to earn a spot in the national finals, joining Kelechi Nwanaga, Tony White and Vincent Rentzsch to do so.

Prodanas was one of three Retrievers to compete on Thursday. His throw of 66.38m was .26m ahead of 13th place to earn him a spot in the finals. Manos Kamtsiklis also competed in the hammer throw finishing 26th with a toss of 59.19m.

Kelechi Nwanaga was the other competitor for the Retrievers on Thursday in the javelin. She finished in 13th place with a throw of 49.49m, just .01m out of qualifying position.
