Final Results
Durham, N.H.—Freshman Alexios Prodanas finished his torrid weekend by earing Most Outstanding Field Performer and Most Outstanding Rookie honors on Sunday. UMBC finished second, just behind Albany who won their eighth straight title.
Prodanas took home fourth in the discus with a toss of 44.99m (147'7") to go along with a gold medal in the hammer throw yesterday. Prodanas was named Most Outstanding Field Performer and Most Outstanding Rookie for his efforts.
Jacob Netschke and Thomas Johnson also earned top finishes in the field, with Netschke taking third in the high jump (2.02m, 6'7.5") and Johnson taking second in the triple jump (14.90m, 48'10.75").
Jamal Cody once again broke his school record in the 400m hurdles for the third week in a row, winning gold in a time of 52.48. Drew Daniels and Marcus Foster went two-three in the event with times of 53.07 and 53.56.
Daniels earned a fourth place finish in the 110m hurdles, crossing the tape in 14.76. Brian Nelson earned two trips to the medal stand with a third place finish in the 100m dash (10.60) and a fourth place finish in 200m dash (21.85). Other sprint finishers included Erick Soetje in the 400m dash (second, 47.78) and James Oakley III in the 200m dash (21.83).
Urgy Eado and Matt Kane earned individual medals in the 800m and 5,000m runs. Eado took fourth in a time of 1:51.89 while Kane finished third in 14:39.37.
A trio of relays had top three finishes, as the 4x800m relay set a new school record. Miles Smith, Andrew Kereszetes, Ty Thronson and Eado finishes third in a time of 7:33.79. Darrius Oxley, Soetje, Cody and Daniels won gold in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:14.46. The 4x100m relay team of Afees Abolurin, Oakley, Nelson and Noel Njem won gold with a time of 41.36.
Head coach David Bobb and staff were named Coaching Staff of the Year, after guiding the Retrievers to a second place finish at the meet.
Albany won their eighth straight title, edging out the Retrievers and New Hampshire. UMass Lowell, Binghamton, Stony Brook, Vermont, Maine and Hartford rounded out the field.
The Retrievers will head to the IC4A Championships in Princeton, N.J. next weekend to continue the championship season.
