Omar Finishes in 19th in the 10,000m at the NCAA East Preliminaries

Jacksonville, Fla.-- UMBC track and field senior Hassan Omar (Frederick, Md./Thomas Johnson) ended his historic career at UMBC with a 19th place finish in the 10,000m run at the NCAA East Preliminaries on Thursday. He is the first of three of Retrievers to run at the prelims. 

The senior finished the race with a time of 30:24.21 in 19th place. He finished just outside the top 12 who qualified for the finals in Eugene. Amon Terer of Campbell finished in first with a time of 30:03.

The prelims continue tomorrow morning from Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville.
