Westward Bound! Rentzsch Qualifies for NCAA Finals in Eugene, Ore. In the Javelin

Jacksonville, Fla.—UMBC junior Vincent Rentzsch earned a spot in the NCAA Finals of the javelin throw after his performance on Friday. Rentzsch threw a 69.18m toss on his final attempt to place sixth in the event.

Rentzsch will head to Eugene thanks to his toss of 69.18m on Friday. The throw landed him in sixth place in the competition. Rentzsch set the school mark in the event with a throw of 71.21m at the Penn Relays, placing fourth at the iconic meet.

The Retrievers will close out the preliminaries with Hassan Omar competing in the 5,000m run on Saturday. Omar won the America East race with a time of 14:40.90.
