LiveStats

BALTIMORE—Coming off a big victory over 17th-ranked Towson, the UMBC women's lacrosse team (3-1) looks to extend its winning streak to three in a row Saturday when it visits Duquesne (1-2). Game time from Rooney Field is set for 1 p.m.

Last Time Out: UMBC used a 5-0 run to rally from a halftime deficit and defeat their cross-town rivals, 10-9. Senior attack Erika Braerman (Fallston, Md./Fallston) led all scorers with four points on three goals and an assist, while three other Retrievers tallied two goals apiece. Sophomore defender Jamie Fahey (Baldwin, Md./Loch Raven) recorded three ground balls, four draw controls and two caused turnovers. Senior goalie Natalie Rau (Forest Hill, Md./Fallston) made seven saves between the pipes.

On the Dukes: Duquesne is 1-2 on the season after falling to No. 10 Notre Dame on Sunday. Attack Katie Rekart led the Dukes with three goals against the Fighting Irish, while goalie Liz Walker made seven saves. Rekart has tallied a team-best nine points so far this season, while midfielder Meredith Dunn is tops with eight goals. Walker has posted a 10.14 goals-against average and a .412 save percentage. Courtney Lambert leads Duquesne with six ground balls and five caused turnovers. Attack Haley Marafioti, who is second on the tem with seven goals, was named Atlantic-10 Rookie of the Week two weeks ago. Duquesne was picked to finish fifth in the A-10 preseason poll after posting an 8-9 record in 2010.

Inside the Series: UMBC and Duquesne have met just once previously, a 17-1 victory for the host Retrievers in 1997.

For Starters: At 3-1, UMBC is off to its best start since 1995, when the Retrievers also won three of their first four games.

Perfect 10: Three Retrievers – Braerman, junior midfielder Alicia Krause (Ellicott City, Md./Mount Hebron/Duquesne) and senior midfielder Ashley Stodter (Silver Spring, Md./Good Counsel) – have a team-best 10 goals apiece. The trio is tied for fifth in the America East with 2.5 goals per game.

Streaking: Stodter has scored a goal in nine straight games dating to April 10, 2010.
